| With everything increasing except your pay, why should you have 2 tune-ups a year when all the service technician does is turn it on and see if it works and charges you $69.00 and then tries to sell you a new unit. The new heaters have roll-out safety switches and other safety devices so all I have to do, at minimum, is use a pleated filter, get a CO detector, clean the drain and the outside AC with coil cleaner (not water).

| Clean trap and outside unit. Use pleated filter, at minimum. One tune-up a year for $79.00 includes checking the heat and air conditioning. You only need to do it one time a year and you can get done in the fall or winter and that sure beats $138.00.

Companies that Market Tune-Ups
| If they market tune ups they have a planned reason to try to get in your house and sell you a system and if they can’t they will at minimum sell you a capacitor, contactor or thermostat so they can afford to send a guy to your house and do a tune up for $59-$79. So beware and make sure they clean the coil with coil cleaner and they are there to do a tune up. Most of these marketing tune up companies just clean with water and charge you extra for coil cleaner. |
